Role Summary
We are looking for a Techno-Functional BI Consultant who can bridge business needs with BI capabilities, drive structured evaluation of BI tools, and produce decision-ready insights for leadership. This role spans both assessment and implementation phases, ensuring continuity from tool evaluation through to solution delivery
Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Framework Design
- Define evaluation framework, scoring model, and criteria
- Structure assessment across ETL, DWH, and BI layers
- Align evaluation to business reporting and analytics needs
Current State Analysis
- Document existing reporting landscape
- Capture business pain points and reporting gaps
- Map current architecture inputs into evaluation framework
BI Tool Evaluation
- Evaluate shortlisted BI tools for:
- Reporting capabilities
- Usability & self-service
- Dashboarding & visualization
- Perform comparative analysis across tools
Decision Support & Deliverables
- Develop tool comparison matrix with scoring
- Document pros & cons for each tool
- Consolidate findings into clear, executive-ready insights
- Support preparation of final recommendation
Implementation Responsibilities (Post-Assessment)
- Translate assessment findings into detailed business and reporting requirements
- Work with stakeholders to define and refine KPIs, metrics, and reporting structures
- Prepare functional specifications for dashboards and reports
- Support BI tool configuration from a business and usability perspective
- Collaborate with Data Engineers and BI Developers during implementation
- Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and validation of dashboards
- Ensure alignment between business expectations and delivered outputs
- Drive adoption readiness, including documentation and user guidance
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience in BI & Reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy, etc.), ETL tools (Alteryx), and Data warehousing tools (Snowflake, Redshift, etc.)
- Good understanding of data models, dashboards, and analytics use cases
- Experience in business analysis & stakeholder requirement mapping
- Ability to create structured evaluation frameworks and scoring models
- Strong communication and presentation skills (consulting-style output)
